Tamara Evans
Hi! I’m Tamara - A clinical psychologist with over 20 years experience working in the area of child and adolescent mental health.
I work exclusively in therapy with children and adolescents, also providing
support strategies to parents. I offer individual consultations, as well as group programs and seminars. I have particular expertise working with anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, emotional regulation, and grief & loss issues. With a young family of my own, I identify with parents’ concerns and hopes for their children, and appreciate the level of trust placed in health professionals. I understand the importance of families feeling understood and well connected to their therapist, and I look forward to working with families from my local community and their unique experiences.
I incorporate current evidence-based practice in my work. I also find a
Narrative Therapy framework to be useful in helping people and families to
realise their own skills and competencies in a respectful and non-blaming way. I have well established connections with local services, and am committed to Little Lights Psychology providing the highest quality support.
I gained my experience working as a therapist in both community and private child and youth settings. Over this time, I have provided one on one consultations, developed and facilitated numerous group therapy programs, presented at community and parent information sessions, and delivered seminars to university students.
I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with clinical psychology endorsement, am a
member of the Australian Psychological Society, and am a registered provider of Medicare specialist clinical psychology services.
I look forward to working with your family. Please feel free to contact me.
Donut
Hello! I’m Donut the pug. I am currently on my L’s - learning to be a therapy dog. This means that you might see me taking part in a telehealth video session. I LOVE people, and am hoping that one day soon I will be able to meet some of you in person, and help you work through some of the things that bring you to therapy. I am great at making people smile, and inspiring kindness. My favourite things are gentle pats and cuddles, and playing at the park with my doggy and human friends.
